Type: Non-Cuban Cigars
A medium bodied cigar that has a tight, firm draw but imparts an earthy smoke with hints of leather and brown sugar. A musty note on the finish hurt the score. Its Ecuadorian Habano wrapper covers a Dominican binder and filler. Handmade at the Tabacalera Palma in the Dominican Republic, the La Galera Habano is a well-balanced cigar that is well-regarded for its consistency in construction, burn, and flavor.
The La Galera Habano was on of two cigars launched at the same time as his brand, the other being the La Galera Connecticut. Both cigars use a Dominican Corojo binder and fillers that include Dominican piloto cubano, criollo 98 and pelo de oro. Besides the wrappers, all the tobacco is grown by Blanco.
Cigar Aficionado: Rated at 87 points, describing it as a "firm draw but imparts an earthy smoke with hints of leather and brown sugar," with a "musty note on the finish."
