Type: Cuban Cigars
Launched in 1935 by the H. Upmann factory as a tribute to the Count of Monte Cristo - the cigar smoking hero of Alexandre Dumas novel. Montecristo's balanced blend and distinguished aroma appeal to all levels of smokers, making it one of the world's most popular brand.
A strong woody aroma pervades the first third of the cigar. There's also a cocoa scent, a hint of coffee, and a gentle grassy scent. Finally, the smoker's nose detects a mild peppery aroma as well as a lemon scent. A fragrant panel of cedar, tobacco, chocolate, coffee, spice, butter, lemon, and butternut characterizes the second third. The smoker is left with a simplified fragrance profile of an earthy tone after this intricate alchemy. As a result, the puro takes on a particularly full-bodied character. The cedar and leather scents dominate the third. There's also some herb, lemon, and pepper in there.
