Herman Upmann was a German banker who fell in love with Cuban cigars and moved to Havana in 1844 to set up shop as both a banker and a cigar maker. His bank closed in the early 1920s, but his cigars remain a fine example of an elegant, Mild-Medium flavored Habano.
The cigar reveals aromas of honey and chocolate, which persist as part of the initial flavors. As soon as it is lighted, a rich, full-bodied smoke bursts forth, adding a particular creaminess to the tongue.
